Holiday in Denmark-Day 1

Written at: May 23rd 2025

Hello, yeah, its been a while... but Im back again and as you see, its a holiday series :-)

But lets start from the beginning. My mom and my uncle were drinking a glass of whine together, when they had a Schnapsidee (in English: Booze idea), in other words, a nonsensical, strange or crazy idea.  They wanted to book a holiday in Denmark, specifically near Esbjerg, so they looked on-line for a House for three people near Esbjerg...and boom! They found one... Its the House, where im sitting in right now. And after aprox. 15 minutes the deal was singed and the acommodation booked!

Now onto Departure Day...the  23rd. May 2025 since thats a Friday..I still had school this day..but not normal Lessons, instead we had sports-festival. The so-called Bundesjugendspiele...

Definition from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bundesjugendspiele

The Bundesjugendspiele ("Federal Youth Games") are an annual sports event that takes place at German schools and German international schools. They are obligatory for all students.

The participating students are expected to achieve the best possible performances in specific disciplines, like athletics or gymnastics. In athletics, usually a combination consisting of the disciplines ball-throwing (shot put in higher age groups), running, and long jump is performed.

The performances achieved are rated with points. If the participant achieves a specific minimum score, they are given a simple certificate. Above a certain higher score they receive an 'honorary certificate', which bear the (printed) signature of the Federal President.  Since 1991, all other students, who have neither received a  'certificate of achievement' nor an 'honorary certificate', get a  'certificate of participation'.

with that out of the way...

Lets continue with the blog...

After the Bundesjugendspiele came to an end, I got Home where my uncle, my mom and I then proceeded to put our bags, suitcases and also our three, yes! three bikes in my uncles car and Trailer. After that we hoped in the car and got ready for the drive to BlĂ„vand. We arrived at our House at aprox. 7 pm and we started at our home in Germany at 2 pm, although we did have 2 stops at two different service areas, which increased our driving time by about half an hour.

Oh..I almost forgot to mention that we almost missed the House, why?

Simply because of Google Maps... Let me explain.. The House is located at a nearby street, but is in fact not reachable through that Main-Street and if you know Google Maps, then you might also know that Google often uses the wrong street to allocate the adress the wrong way.

So what basically happend, was that, there was no access to the House from the Main-Road, so that we had to search a different street.

But then, finally after aprox. 5h of driving, we arrived.

And honestly, we were a little bit confused where the Entrance was, but once we figured that out, it all went smoothly.

And after we got everything out of the car and trailer, we put everything where it belonged.

And that pretty much concludes our first day in Denmark,

See you soon and as always
